0.2.1 OI live bug?

0.2.1 OI live refuses to start on my Hanlin V3ext. It says internal storage filesystem is damaged. 0.2.0 runs OK though.

Same problem here! It just happened yesterday while transferring some files to the device - since then, the device boots up and says "internal file system is damaged", and that I should connect it to the PC and repair/reformat it. But doing so does not help (with Windows and Linux). It happens with 0.2.1 on, even with the daily builds. 0.2 boots up, but does not read my epub files properly...

EDIT: I need to say that I ran some daily builds before, and it worked like a charm...

Unfortunately there is no user-triggered debugging info gathering yet. Please fall back to older version until it's implemented.

I got it working! The trick was to use the actual daily build, "reinstall" version. I first tried the "update" and "flashimage" versions, which did not help.

I took this version:

I managed to get it working, you can check the IRC logs for today (Apr 02 2011) for how it went down.

You will need to get SSH working.

The 0.3rc1 liveimage is functional. The 0.2.2 image is not. Transfer the contents of both zips to the SD card in separate folders and boot 0.3rc1. Once it is up, SSH in (192.168.111.1 with root/zxc).

Change dir to the 0.2.2 folder (in my case /media/sd/022img). Make a folder in /mnt ('mkdir /mnt/test' for example), then run 'mount /media/sd/022img/openinkpot/rootfs.ext2 /mnt/test' - of course replace with your own directory structure.

Once complete, change dir to /mnt/test/etc
Then run 'vi fstab' and erase the last line, it will look something like this: /dev/mtdblock_STORAGE /mnt/storage vfat quiet,iocharset=utf8,flush,noatime 0 0
If you don't know how to use vi, do yourself a favour and learn =)

Save the file, change dir to /, run 'umount /mnt/test', then run 'reboot', and boot the 0.2.2 image instead.
