Talking Help converting chapter headings
Some books have chapter headings with the word One, Two, Three.... etc Just the word standing alone on it's on line, with a blank line above it and below it.

Is there a way to *automatically* detect these chapter headings? I used ebook-convert to convert from pdf to epub, but the chapter headings didn't come along.

Try enabling heuristics and be sure the "detect and markup chapters..." option is enabled. You may want to try converting a few times with some of the other heuristic options disabled. They can do some pretty extensive modification to the document.

just beware of ticking italicise commen phrases option in heuristics - unles that is now completely debugged. I got so fed up with idea being replaced by i.e.

Well fortunately I did that from the git-go. I had no need for it so I unchecked it.

That was fixed a number of versions ago. I haven't had an new bug reports about issues with it so I'd say it's been pretty well debugged.
