Exclamation Department of the Strange

I was backing out (un-installing) 7.49 on XP and browsing MR while I waited, when this popped up.

That looks like the Windows installer throwing a tantrum about another application running during install/uninstall, which has been known to happen. What's so strange about that?

Windows, Tantrum . Say it ain't so

Been using XPpro (w3.1,W95a,b,c,98,98se,w2k,) for a long time and never seen anything like that one

I can imagine something like this happening if the search-the-internet plugin is what initially started the browser. All it would take is for a handle to some calibre file be passed as part of the exec sequence, locking that file. It would stay locked until the browser quits, not calibre.

The Klown on Keyboard mucked up a template
and Calibre would not change metadata on reader to show what books were recently added.
The fix has already been committed for the next release.

Long stretches between bug introduction and something triggering it are not unusual. (I've had a bug lurk for 8 years in a piece of my Paradox PAL code, before it awoke and bit me. TG4 Backups )
