MobileRead October 2010 Book Club Nominations

What are nominations closed so early? It's only the 26th of September. Do we really need five days to vote on just three books? Besides, I did come up with a book to nominate that I was going to do so today. This just seems a lot rushed to me.

Jon, I was asked to set this up, and I followed the Book Club statement that is posted.

The nominations will run through Sep 25 or until 10 books have made the list.
Voting (new poll thread) will run for 5 days starting Sep 25.

Book selection category for October per the "official" club opening thread is:

October 2010
Horror

Eleven books were nominated, but only three were fully nominated by the close date.

Was there something that I did not understand in the post?

I was very surprised by the small amount of books nominated, but the time for the nominations was clearly stated... and this made my choice very easy...

The time is by date or 10 books... This is the first time I've seen only 3...

You are quite correct... thanks for pointing this out.

The dates of the thread's starting and the length of the nomination thread and poll thread have been clearly established and have been used for quite a while now. We haven't had so few in a poll for a while... but the 3 books look like good options... can't wait to get reading one of them.
