You can get some ideas from: http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14148

Anyway, if you intend to show on the DR screen apps running on you PC expect some problems with screen refreshes, as those programs are not using the DR special libraries.

You should need to compile X server or VNC viewer for the DR and include code to handle refresh calls properly.

I've wondered if it is available, too! Would it be, someday?

mm..
but if I remeber well.. X is already running on the DR, try "top" to check..
you should need only a connection between the two X over tcp/ip inside usb..

but as I understand, the refresh is implemented on the gtk+ libraries, so a program running on your computer but displayed on the DR screen will be using computer's gtk+ libs, and computer's X client (in fact, the program, which is linked to computer's gtk+ and X lib) will send X bitmaps/pixmaps to DR's X server that will update the screen.

Anyway, try and share the results ;-)

It's more complicated than that. In addition to being able to run a remote X session, as Inigo says, the application that you're running has to have the intelligence in it to work with the eInk screen correctly. I could be wrong, but I don't think a generic X application will have that by default. It would need to know when and how to do refreshes, etc.

Certainly not impossible, but more work than just getting a connection setup. I believe there have been other discussion about this issue in the past that we can search for to get some more details on what else needs to be done to make it work.
