If Augen and others are actually pirating license protected applications like Market, then perhaps the only recourse that Google has to protect it's reputation would be to sue those companies that distribute products using unlicensed applications?
But those are all phones. There's no tablet from any OHA member yet (the Dell Streak 5" doesn't really count since it's also a phone, and not in the way that an iPad 3G is a "phone").

Very very true!!!!!!!!!!

Android up to and including 2.2 was not intended for tablets, so no tablet running Android is any responsibility for Google. That was my point. Android 3 will be the first version of Android designed to support tablets.

The Dell Streak smartphone is definitely an oddball, too big for a smartphone and too small for a tablet. Dell is an OHA member, so at least Market is an authorized application on the Dell Streak smartphone.

The latest firmware for my SmartQ V7 tablet came with Market preinstalled, but Google blocks it's use in Market, apparently due to the device having a phony IMEI. It still works great even though it makes getting apps a little more complicated.
