The Funniest Fiction Novel

Post the title and author of the funniest fiction novel you have read.

My first choice is Blood Sucking Fiends: A Love Story by Christopher Moore.

This could change if I remember others that I have read.

As a teenager, I loved the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams.

I also thought Catch-22 by Joseph Heller was hilarious until the last 3 chapters, which made me want to crawl up in the fetal position and try to find my happy place.

I was lucky enough to read it before the movie came out. I never did warm up to the characters in the movie (even though I like the actors), but it was still amusing... where the book was downright hilarious.

There is a sequel called Vertical, but I've not gotten around to it yet

I was about to mention A confederacy of Dunces. Probably not considered a comic novel, but I would classify The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens as such.

It is not available as an ebook but Evolution Man: Or, How I Ate My Father by Roy Lewis is hilarious.

Last book I've read that had me laughing is Hogfather by Terry Pratchett. One of the books in the Discworld series.
