Broken 505 - what next?

That was really not very clever, packing my bags between hotels, I managed to stand on the top corner of my PRS-505, wrecking the e-ink layer in about a 1x2 inch area! This is one reason ebooks have a way to go yet ... a pbook would have been fine.
Guess it's an excuse to upgrade to a new reader, though I was very happy with it. Time to start Reading reviews of the new ones.

Iain,

If you are reading non-DRM books you could just reset the top margin to just below the affected area. It is what I did with mine for about 5 months, before eventally buying a new 505.

I've actually found that it is just readable in landscape mode. Not ideal, but will keep me going for now.

Iain, if you travel a lot, you might want to consider the 300 as it is smaller and thus more portable than the 505. I've checked it out at the Sony Store and were, heaven forbid, I to lose my 505, I'd probably opt for the 300.
