Decodable readers? (phonics)
A leveled, or graded book is rated according to difficulty.
A 'decodable' book is rated according to phonics. Where can I find decodable books? I need about 50 that I can view on an eink screen, not an addictive light emitting screen. Here are some examples: https://www.jollylearning.co.uk/shop...-complete-set/ https://global.oup.com/education/pro...059/?region=uk I hesitate to drop money into something with DRM via an app that'll surely be abandonware in a few year's time. There's https://www.speldsa.org.au/speld-phonic-books as well but I much prefer the Lego phonics books. A sweet spot, I find, for these books, are the books that go slightl beyond 3 letter CVC words but not much past that. For example, not limited to words like CAT and DOG, but also using words like 'KITE and TAKE' and avoiding words like BANANA. There are leveled readers as well... but these vary a lot. It's a good 2nd option to have if the phonic books are too boring. So, what screen size should I aim for with these kinds of books and how should I buy them? I think a Kindle is too small... |
