Nope, I got over worrying about what other people thought of my reading material once I left my teen years - a long time ago.

Yes, not so much to hide subject matter as to make it less.obvious when I am reading.

This made me laugh. My family shares my amazon account, so all the books show up on all the kindles. Not too long ago there was a free book of the day called man words (or something like that) which I downloaded but did not immediately read. My 14yo sampled it first and shared with his mother who was not amused. I had to get it off all the fires and our amazon cloud and promise to preview all future downloads.
I have considered opening a second amazon account and associating my knt with it just for mature content (not erotica). Last edited by wizwor; 05-26-2012 at 02:11 AM. |

This year, I'm publishing what I am reading on Facebook and on one or more blogs. And sometimes in the reading recommendations forum here. More people know what I'm reading than ever before (although I guess some of those are kind of anonymous).
So no. But I wouldn't rule out reading something embarrassing or unusual that I would prefer to keep to myself. I'll read whatever takes my fancy, thanks. |

I'm happy to lend one or other of my ereaders to friends so they can actually read something on it (as opposed to playing with an in-store demo model) over a weekend. No, I don't hide my reading preferences and I've never felt the need to remove a book from a device before lending it. I do have a lot of science fiction and all the HPs now but no erotica, if that makes a difference.

I was not hiding what I read when I read non electric books. I have been reading Science Fiction since I was a young child and could care less what others think I should or should not be reading. Apache |

No. I use my reading device to read. Erotica and Young Adult just happen to be two out of many genres on said device.

I must admit that I do. I couldn't have people knowing that I am reading all these classics. That might ruin my reputation if word got out that I was reading Jane Eyre or Pride & Prejudice. They would be simply aghast if they knew I had read Little Men!

I just don't read in the presence of other people... ereader or otherwise. But I have absolutely no issues with people knowing exactly what I'm reading.

Hail, no!
Anybody who knows me knows I read pretty much anything. And that anything starts with SF, Fantasy, and Space Opera. Plus comics, car mags, sports mags, even newspapers! But I do draw a line: no way, no how do I read political magazines! Yew! Dis-gus-ting filthy stuff! |

I don't use my ereader to hide what I read. I would have no problem with anyone in my house picking up my Kindle and reading what is on it.
