My PW had 1,341 Mb free on delivery and after all my eBooks are loaded is down to 1,227 Mb.

One can see that number by going \ Home \ Menu \ Settings \ Device Options \ Menu \ Device Info.

If yours shows 256 Mb free, then you must have hundreds of ebooks loaded.

Thats storage space, not ram.
