Duokan 2014
Hi,

Yesterday I installed the new version of Duokan (2014) on my Kindle Paperwhite and I'm really delighted with the functionality.

As a university student, I have to read a lot of text, especially in PDF format. I also do many highlights. And the 2014 version can sync with Evernote your notes and highlights (it's even a better system than with the Sony eReader).

I installed Duokan 2014 today, big mistake! The language is half chinese/half english. The button are in chinese with few english notes. I want to uninstall it but the button are in chinese even after I chose english. Can someone please give me a process to uninstall it by telling me the position on the screen of all buttons to remove it?? Please?

EDIT This worked, phew
How do I un-install?
Delete the folders starting DK and reboot the Kindle.

any chance any Duokan versions will work on my Kindle Paperwhite II (fw. 5.4.5.1 ?). I tried installing it but every time I "eject" the Kindle, the update option is greyed out. Upon reconnecting, the Kindle seems to have deleted the Setup .bin.

What are the **FIRST** four characters of your serial number?

You will have to get the Dorkian project to add that to their installer packaging (ah, they just need to steal a more recent one of ours, they are slowing down in ripping us off).

What's with the Duokan-Dorkian rivalry? I'm newish to this community.

Nothing less than their refusal to follow the requirements of the Open Source software licenses of the Open Source software they use.
Just try to get them to release the sources (with their modifications) of those parts of the software they are required to do so by the terms of the license.

Plus, they "borrow" our work without acknowledgment or credit.

Yup - we are a bit hot about the subject here.

I just installed duokan 2014 and even if I go to the settings and change to english it still all chinese!
Looked in the file DK system and the translation folder only have "duokan_zh_CN.qm" so NO english or any other language!!

anyone knows how to change to english?

Is it possible to read ebook download from Amazon directly in duokan?
It seems that there was a "read from old file system" option in previous duokan version. Is it still possible? I can't find it...
