Modifying which tabs to appear on main screen?

With sideload mode on or off, some tabs appear on or disappear from the main screen on the device (specifically, Home and Discover).

I want to know whether or not it is possible to modify the Kobo eReader.conf to hide the other tabs in the main menu, specifically Activity and My Notebooks.

For My Notebooks, I read that you can hide the menu by simply disabling stylus function on the device. The method is to add the following code to the config file Kobo eReader.conf:

Code:
[ApplicationPreferences]
StylusUsageDetected=false
But I am looking for another method since I do use the stylus for another functions with the device.

Is this possible? If there is no such switch in Kobo eReader.conf, is there another method?

The stylus is only any use with PDFs as well as Notebooks. It's pointless on epub. Only keyboard annotations on epub sensibly export. Highlighting with finger is easier than pen on epub as long as font not too small.

I've never heard of any such setting or patch. Of course it might be possible.

You can use a passive stylus for highlighting and tapping purposes, so you can disable the pen support and switch to a passive stylus if you want to avoid fingerprints.

Yes, and quite good ones with a slightly rubbery tip are in several local shops here at €2 for phone touch screens.
