Organizing by “Genre”?
Hi. I’d like to organize my ebooks by genre on Calibre. There is a tutorial on this that I found; however, it is unfortunately outdated. Here is the link: https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/sub_groups.html#setup . I have created a custom column, as instructed, but I’m stuck on the part where I must instruct calibre to treat the column as a “hierarchy.” (I have no idea how to add images to this form so I’m just going to do my best to explain this.) The instructions are: “Go to Preferences → Look & feel → Tag browser and enter the lookup name “#genre” into the “Categories with hierarchical items” box.” I cannot find the “categories with hierarchical items“ box anywhere, and the screenshots provided in the tutorial look different from what I see on calibre. Can someone help me?

It's now under the tab "Hierarchy and Searching". Check the box for Genres. I've added a screenshot.
