Viewer: unwanted zooming
Hello,
It's happened a few times. Most recently, I had started up the viewer, and with the list of recent books, as I was moving the mouse to click the first entry, maybe I invoked some one finger macOS magic mouse gesture, and the whole control zoomed in, such that the whole page did not display. A few times its happened with books, where it'll zoom such that I can scroll left and right to see the whole page. Reminds me, maybe the viewer on startup, if there's no command-line options to open a particular book, it can restore the previous state such as an opened book. cmd/control-W to close the book and return to the recent book list, now that such exists, would be great. Someday, an option to list recent books by cover, such as how calibre itself does, that'd be nice. Maybe someday an option of it isn't there to show a list of all cached books too, so one could open any of them acting like sort of a viewer library view. |

The viewer has a pinch gesture to change font size, but that definitely does not operate on the recent list. I'm guessing this is some macOS specific gesture, see if you can figure out what it is so I can reproduce it.

I'll keep trying. Before it happened when viewing text in flow mode, I believe when using the keyboard shortcut to increase font size. But rather than that, or in addition, the whole paged zoomed in, such that the page width exceeded the viewer width.

Maybe it is the pinch gesture. Indeed it does also operate on the recent list. Is it supposed to zoom the page rather than increase font size? That's what happens.

That's definitely a macOS feature. pinch to zoom is not implemented in the viewer. Instead if and only if you pinch in the viewer text it will increase/decrease font size. Instead on macOS it zooms, which means the viewer touch handling code is not being invoked at all. So, the solution is to simply not make that gesture And if you do, reverse pinch to return to normal
