The good news here is that the SD slot is SDHD allowing some good-sized SD cards to be used to expand the available flash. I am not aware of the upper limit of SDHD, but I have heard of 8G cards available now.

Nice find Wallcraft!
I really like this little thing. My only beef is that they keep hiking up the price. |

High capacity SDHC cards
Toshiba has an 8G SDHC card now. A 16G is coming in October with a 32G to follow in January of 2008. The price for the 32G is US$695.95. It seems we don't have to worry about flash for our EEEs. Here is a google translation of the Japanese page. If that doesn't work for you, here is the Japanese page.
![]() You can also get a 64G USB thumb drive now. Make sure you are sitting down when you read the price tag! I hope I get one in my Christmas stocking ![]() |

Hot off the press! Here's a review of the Asus Eee 701 from Engadget. They have quite a few pictures, though they said the review was originally from a Russian site. Man, where do all the Russian get these things? Arms trades? lol, j/k

Asus EEE battery
Asus shows this page with a shot of the battery compartment built into the hinge. I don't know if this is the EEE in the photo, but the hinge is similar to that shown in the EEE photos.
I occasionally peruse the Asus site to see if they have announced the availability of the Asus EEE 701. So far no luck. |
