I installed COPS 0.6.0 on my Synology DS110j with DSM 4.2-2311 (latest for my Synology) and all works as expected (so far). The rendering of thumbnails is just so sloooowwwwww

With the error you reported usually there is something "wrong" with your config_local.php (maybe just copied the old version? Make a new one
)
