Seems you get the 'black cover' when you strip the DRM. Otherwise you get a rather nondescript blue bordered with text cover in Adobe Digital Editions, at least its been that way with all my purchases from Waterstones so far. I do the same as you, add a nice cover once I've taken off the DRM
