"The Mystery of Edwin Drood" was Dickens' final novel, and he died in 1870 with it only half finished, unfortunately leaving no "plot outline" to indicate how he intended to finish it. However, don't let that put you off reading it; enough of it was completed to make it well worth reading and, having read it, you'll be able to engage in the very enjoyable activity of speculating how it might have finished, as countless others have been doing for well over a century.
