I looks like you or something you installed did something 'special' to the directory /usr/local...
Do you have ssh running? If so, you can investigate this. List it with 'find /usr/local' and ls -l /usr/local. If there is nothing important in /usr/local, you might delete it (rm -r /usr/local, or rm /usr/local if it is a symbolic link) and recreate it (mkdir /usr/local) and install again. If /usr/local contains important stuff, then ...
