Then yours will write as slow as hers does.
I have about 1GB of partition images on it. - wouldn't exactly call that "empty".

But anyway, the diags partition shouldn't have been mounted after a reboot. And it seems like she rebooted several times, and always got the same kind of error about being unable to backup diags /etc/shadow. And the installer does (try to) unmount diags after it finishes, even if it failed. This is all puzzling me.

@aceflor: Oh, and please also run these commands:

df -h
and post the output.
