@Merischino - merging is a *calibre* function, it is nothing to do with this plugin. If you are experiencing problems with the merge activity, then raise a ticket with Kovid with the steps to reproduce it.
As I said above there is absolutely no way this plugin is ever going to "select" the books for you given how merging works in calibre currently. Whether you find it broken or not (which as I said you should raise with Kovid), certainly the "intent" has always been that the first selection represents your record you want to keep. The plugin cannot even begin to guess what record this might be, since in many circumstances you may well have differing format/book source/quality/metadata on each record and only a human can decide which one shall be their "master".
