The Kindle App can only read books purchased from Amazon (*). I'd suggest converting your book to ePub format, and sending her that. She will be able to read it with Apple's "iBooks" App, which does allow you to load your own content.
(*) You can load your own content into the Kindle App with a lot of messing around, but it's really not worth the effort.
