The Scottish writer, scientist and evangelist Henry Drummond wrote this influential book, originally published in 1883, as a means of clarifying his own thoughts on the clash between science and religion. Drummond argued, to popular acclaim, that the scientific principle of continuity extended from the physical world to the spiritual.
