I think so too. (For those not familiar with the UK, Dixons Group dominates the high street with its Currys shops and the larger PC World stores. These are where most people would go to get a hands on taste of computing devices.)

They've pitched it not too much more than half the price of the cheapest iPad and although you get less screen real estate and memory you still get enough. And customers will also see that there are areas where they are getting more: webcam, expandable memory, USB port, HD video out.

For many people it may actually be a more useful device than the iPad, given the webcam and USB port in particular.

Dixons are also positioning themselves very well for the follow-up release of Android 3.0, perhaps even as an update on this hardware.
