No, that would not do. I was hoping that someone here might be such a fan of Sherlock Holmes that they might actually know this. I would nave never have known the answer, in fact would never have thought of the question, if I had not encountered this article in the Smithsonian Magazine: The Mystery of 221B Baker Street. Thar museum looks really interesting, if I am ever in London and had the time I would definitely like to visit it. So anyway the answer is that the building address would be 239 Baker Street, but the local authorities have let it have the address 221B.
