How is leaving out multi-tasking capabilities and interface customization NOT dumbing things down? Apple is telling users: "you can't be trusted to use the full functionality of your devices responsibly, just let Big Daddy handle it for you so that you don't mess up". If all people didn't need it, why did they provide multi-tasking for their own apps? Why is interface customization so popular with Android users? Why are the pen and multiple windows making a comeback?

Some of the simplifications did make sense in 2007-2009, but now hardware has progressed beyond the limitations of that time.
