Linux treats my Kindle as an audio player, Calibre doesn't recognize my Kindle
When I plug my Kindle Touch in to a PC running Linux, the system puts the icon of an audio player on the screen with the text “Kindle” beneath the icon and immediately starts an audio player (which I shutdown). I can use the icon to open a File Browser window that I can use to copy files to the Kindle. However Calibre does not recognize the Kindle.
I have tried the fixes in both the:
* “Why is my device not detected in linux?” and
* “My device is getting mounted read-only in linux, so calibre cannot connect to it?”
subsections of the “Frequently Asked Questions” section of the on-line Calibre Users Manual.¶
Any ideas?
