To me, Nomad reader is far from replacing the B&N reader. To change the default, maybe you can try uninstall Nomad reader and re-install using adb through USB.
For input method, one need to long-press in text area to choose a different one. Would it be working if you just remove the Cyrillic input method apk and reboot?
