If the book is only OK, there is no ritual for me. If the book is really good and I don't want it to end, I begin to read the last few pages more slowly, taking the time to savour the end, and when it's over I sigh and sit in meditation for a minute or two on the story or how good the book was, and then, as Loretta Castorini might suggest, I snap out of it and continue on with life.
