Techy Question: Nook and SSL (Blank Page)

Hi Everyone,

I'm creating a Web-based Google Reader that will be skinned based on the E-Reader you're using. For the Nook, this means I'll be formatted so buttons will be available right in the LCD screen for jumping between articles, etc. I.E something like what you see in the attached image (That's actually a screen-cap from the emulator, most everything is working at this point).

In any event, my problem lies in logging in securely. I basically take your Google login info and pass it directly to Google via SSL and a cookie is then saved on the Nook. This is no problem. The problem is ensuring the Nook displays the HTTPS page to begin with.

For some reason, the Nook shows a blank page when using a self-signed certificate. Does anyone know how to get around this? And if not, does anyone know if the Nook will consider a RapidSSL cert valid?

Thanks,
Ben
