Tony I hate "New Yorker" type stories for the most part ... that may or may not be exactly what you mean, but there is a style of typical New Yorker Story that I think is more of a sketch or incident than a real story, in particular they don't seem to have resolutions and I don't consider it a story unless it has a resolution.
