Shackleton, Sir Ernest: South! (Illustrated), v1, 6 Sept 2009.

Inspired by Patricia's post and ebook creation of this same ebook, namely:

The text was from PG and I have added a number of the original illustrations.
This ebook was pre-processed by GuteBook, my free software that anyone can use to create ebooks for their ebook reader. It uses calibre v0.6 to produce the .epub ebook (as well as the _source.epub for Non-Sony readers). It's source was http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/5199 and GuteBook was supplied with just Etext-No. 5199 and options to accomplish this!

This ebook was prepared from the HTML source code as fetched/filtered/fixed by GuteBook and then MANUALLY intervened by me to fix the List of Illustrations images (all images are now included), add styles to center headings, as well as employ some of Patrica's fixes regarding ditto marks and the ASCII whaling chart used in Appendix I.

Gutebook took only a few minutes to download and fix the ebook, but then to get the right look-and-feel, I spent about an hour tweaking things that initially broke under GuteBook. However, when done I could easily re-generate this .epub ebook as well as other ebook formats like .mobi/.prc, .lrf, .lit, and .imp, at the same time.

EDIT: thanks to ShellShock, I've uploaded a version 1.1 that properly implements elements required by the EPUB standard. If you're having issues, then for sure use this version.

Enjoy!
