Kindle Paperwhite does support an index for DJV, as present in a number of Bibles, including the ones mentioned earlier in this thread: the

The process is just a bit different on the Paperwhite, though it's similar to the Touch. Click near the top to see your options, then click on the search button. Type in the shortcut version (e.g. ge 12 3 for Genesis 12:3). To the left, where it says "This Book", change it to the option "Index Items." It will then bring up a list of index items, beginning with the one you typed in. Click on it to go to the verse.
