Wild guess: you were rebooting instead of using the UYK link.

@Tanga: IIRC, that was just a wild guess. Can't really diagnose this kind of issue by remote mind read . Do a bit of digging, check the logs, try to pinpoint what/when happens, etc.
If you look inside my port I quoted the error
"ln: /usr/sbin/dropbearmulti: Read-only file system"

I'm not an expert in Kindle, just bought one recently but I have a lot of experience with Linux.

I read the install.sh and figured out what it is doing and I tried to do things manually.
I guess it tries to create a hard link on a ro file system and it fails.
I do not know much about the Kindle OS.
