Samsung is in the LCD display business and that is a high-volume business.
Liquavista's strengths, even in the best of all worlds, are not exactly necessary in most LCD products. And the products, like ereaders, that might benefit from the tech are really low volume compared to TVs, laptops, phones and other LCD products. Samsung is a big company selling products and components by the tens of millions. Liquavista might sell their displays by the tens of thousands.
At this point the more appropriate question is "Why did Samsung buy Liquavista in the first place?".
