Since Kobo spec sheets specifically fail to mention hadphone/mic jack.... I guess its possible that a wired hands-free headset isn't supported... A strange omission since unlike GPS or Bluetooth it would have required no certification, already supported on the chipset and per-unit cost of a three-pin 3.5mm socket would have been minimal....

Am starting to sound like whinging ROM... Better stop after this pint.
