In his first Post-Crisis appearance, Mr. Mxyzptlk pulled a giant typewriter out of a billboard, hit a random set of keys which typed out the letters "mxyzptlk" and took that as his name in the 3rd Dimension (since his real name is not pronounceable).
As part of a bet with Superman, he agreed to return to the 5th Dimension if Superman could get him to say, write, or spell his name backwards, which Superman eventually did by getting him to retype his name on the same typewriter he created his name on. Superman rewired the typewriter so that it would type his name backwards when he hit the keys of his name in the right order. As agreed, he returned home.]
