I've just started Bacigalupi's new book Ship Breaker. Based in the same "world" as Windup Girl (and some of his short stories) but located in the US. About-- as one might expect-- ship breakers in the post-oil impoverished US. (Happens to be a video about ship breaking on the front page of CNN.com as I write this, but don't have a direct link.)
