So the installer want to calculate space requirements. Fine. But don't send me to the EULA screen where I can accept, and then click 'Next' to proceed with installation, and THEN be told it is still calculating space and an egg-timer is all I'm gonna get until it has finished.

Stay on the 'calculating space' screen until it HAS done so. Thanks.
