Why would I want to keep it in standby all the time? Sometimes I can go days without getting back to using it. wouldn't the battery just drain faster?

Also when it came in the mail it was on which was odd. It must have been on all the way from China. Now I have a slight burn in the middle of the screen of that funny looking N.
