If at all possible, use the Live ***CD***.
That is, if you have a computer with a CD or DVD drive, burn the .iso to a CD. Then boot from that CD.
If, and only if, this is absolutely impossible for you (the
only good reason would be that your computer doesn't have a CD or DVD drive), then yes, it is possible to create a Live USB stick. Unfortunately, this is far more complicated than burning a CD. It's neither easy nor intuitive for newbies, and most of all, it's potentially dangerous, because
you could wreck your USB stick, or, if you're doing things really wrong, your entire computer.
I'm not kidding. If I knew of an easier way to create a Live USB stick, I would have documented it. See the notes in the "spoiler" of the kubrick post. Until then, the only thing that I can do is to
strongly discourage inexperienced users from trying to do it.
