I understand what you're seeking to achieve, but I would take issue with your figure of 50% as the criterion. Assuming everyone votes for exactly 2 categories, then a score of 50% of the total votes is the maximum that any category could achieve - it would mean that every single participant has chosen that category as one of their options. Whilst this would undoubtedly mean that the category in question did "drive eBook purchasing", I hardly think it's a fair requirement as a "pass mark"!
