Perhaps it doesn't recognise the SM card. How much memory do the meters say you have in your eBook (both On eBook: and On Card:)?

On second thought, it looks like you may have older firmware in that NIB REB1100 and thus don't have that option. I found two images which should be familiar to you, however, for me the second one has the "Format Card" button as well as info about the Memory "On Card".
