If I understand your problem correctly, then you need to move a desired ebook from your memory stick to your pc, then import the book into the Sony software. From the Sony software you can move the book onto your reader's internal memory.
Just because the software can see both the memory stick and the reader doesn't mean that you can move files between them directly.
