In case you're interested, I added epub support to my manga/comic processor:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79004 (make sure to grab the latest version, v1.61 or higher)
Without zoom and the virtual iBook taking up a big chunk of the screen, epub manga/comics are not recommended. Pdf and cbz manga/comics work a lot better.
