Version 2 enthält auch die restl. Kapitel (90-166) von Joseph Balsamo. Diese Fortsetzung ist 1847/48 nur unter dem Titel "Denkwürdigkeiten eines Arztes" erschienen. In späteren Buch-Ausgaben fehlen diese Kapitel i. d. R. deshalb auch.
