Add something really cheap like a screen protector for your cell phone to bring your total up to $100

Well, I spent a good part of the early afternoon trying to get some sort of deal on a Nook as a present for someone for Christmas.

I am too far from brick-and-mortar stores, and even if not, I probably would not want to do the Black Friday shopping thing anyway.

The Best Buy online supply for $99 sold out early this morning.

The B&N Ebay Store sold 3600 "refurbished" Nooks for $79 this morning, about an hour or two before I discovered that they had an Ebay Store. I was tempted to just use their $99 refurbished buy-it-now auction, but then I say this thread.

Overstock sold out their supply of the 3G refurb for $99 not long after this thread appeared.

But they still have the WiFi one for $99k. Normally I would just have gone for the one from BN Ebay Store directly, but the coupon posted by abookreader got me $15 off - since I ordered a nice leather Nook case to add to the present (the case was priced at about 30% of the BN.com price) which brought the total over $100. And I had clicked on the "Click for Free Shipping" link when I arrived at the O site, and that stuck - and O does not charge sales tax, so I saved about $10 and a free case which is otherwise an expensive one.

Summary: Thanks for the coupon ! Since the recipient mainly is interested in epub and library books, the 3G would likely never be used anyway.

And it was interesting to note how many thousands are online shopping instead of socializing with their families.
