Hi, mougino, I think that your idea sounds doable. I don't have a 1st gen Kobo
myself, but the chances are pretty good that it could be hacked like the Wifi.
Does the 1st gen Kobo boot from an internal SD card? Hacking obviously has
potential risks, such as bricking your device, and It'd be much safer if you made
a backup of the internal SD card if you can.
