Nook tablet for a child?

We were thinking of getting our 9-year-old daughter a Nook ST, but we're now thinking a Nook Tablet might be better.

Can you think of a negative as far as this tablet for a 9-year-old? Has anyone gotten one for a child? She doesn't need to be able to do everything I do on my iPad, and I don't want to spend twice as much as the nook tablet costs. Mainly, she needs an e-reader, a few educational apps and games, and the ability to stream Netflix is a bonus.
